The project involved the implementation of a Statewide Airport Safety Management System (SMS) Program. The SMS is a program to assist airport staff in determining and reporting safety issues and incidents at airport facilities. Initial rollout of the program covered nine (9) airports across the Hawaiian Islands. Munekiyo Hiraga served as the local agency expert, while also preparing and reviewing program documents.
