Kacy Lyman

Analyst

About

Kacy grew up in Portland, Oregon, but Hawai’i has always been home. She graduated with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Medical Humanities at Georgetown University, where she also played on the Varsity softball team. She is drawn to questions of how communities interact with their environment- particularly in how local communities relate to and shape the places they call home. That interest, paired with her connection to the islands, eventually drew her back to Hawai’i to build a career here. Kacy joined the Munekiyo Hiraga team as an Analyst in hopes to help local communities navigate the planning and regulatory processes that shape their neighborhoods and futures.

Something You Didn't Know

Kacy is a descendant of the Lyman family, one of the first missionary families to settle in Hawaii- their story is preserved today at the Lyman Museum in Hilo. She is also a huge animal lover, at one point her family had a litter of 12 Rottweiler puppies! She hopes to start volunteering at the Hawaiian Humane Society soon.
