    Gwendolyn Cheney Rivera, Manager
    Gwendolyn Rivera

Gwen was born in Honolulu and relocated with her family to Columbus, Ohio. There, she attended school and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at the Ohio State University. Gwen’s love for Hawai`i, however, soon brought her back to the islands. She earned her Master of Science in Bioengineering at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa in 2004 and has lived on Maui since that time.

With 20 years of engineering and research experience, Gwen brings with her insight into industrial and technical projects. From designing a catalysis system for isolating oxygen from the Martian atmosphere to developing biosensor technology to aid in cancer drug research, Gwen’s work has always focused on the future. Today with MH, she values the opportunity to focus on our community, and help those who are guiding us intelligently forward. Since joining MH, Gwen has worked on a variety of projects, ranging from large scale development projects to remote one-lane bridges.

When Gwen is not at work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, and stays active trying to keep up with her two energetic young children.

    Something you didn’t know:
Gwen comes from a family of avid genealogists and can connect her lineage to a number of interesting figures in American history. The list includes inventor Samuel Morse, statesman Daniel Webster, vice president Dick Cheney, and presidents William Taft, Ulysses Grant, and Franklin Roosevelt.
