    Mark Alexander Roy, AICP, LEED AP BD+C, Vice President

    Mark, a native of the United Kingdom, has been working with Munekiyo Hiraga since his arrival in the Hawaiian Islands in 2004. While attending college in England, he received both a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Environmental Management from the University of Leeds, and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Protection from the University of Salford in Manchester. Since graduation, Mark has utilized his academic knowledge and international experience gained from living in the UK, Singapore, Japan and the USA, to develop a comprehensive understanding of the urban and regional planning, and development process.

    A keen advocate of sustainable development and smart growth planning initiatives, Mark has represented Munekiyo Hiraga on a wide range of residential, commercial, community and resort development projects, including those incorporating green design elements such as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. His work at Munekiyo Hiraga includes advising and assisting major landowners, government agencies and non-profit organizations with environmental impact analysis documentation, regulatory/land use permitting and project/process management as well as scoping/feasibility studies and community/stakeholder outreach and engagement assignments.

    Mark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), the American Planning Association (APA) and is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C) under the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

    Something you didn’t know:
    Mark loves spending his free time exploring new places and cultures with his wife (Trisha Jane) and children (Emma Jane and Nikko). Depending on the venue, you can also find him snowboarding, water skiing, scuba diving, or trail running.
